Privacy Policy
Updated October 15, 2026
The short version: your business cards and contacts stay on your phone. CardRolo has no account to sign up for, shows no ads, and does not track you. We never see the cards you scan.
What the app keeps, and where
When you scan a business card, CardRolo keeps the photo of the card and the details read from it (such as name, title, company, phone numbers, email addresses, websites, addresses), plus anything you add yourself, such as notes, tags and where you met. All of this is stored only on your device. Card reading happens on your device too. CardRolo does not send your cards or contacts to us or to anyone else.
Your phone's own backup (iCloud Backup on iPhone, Google backup on Android) may include CardRolo's data, depending on your phone's settings. Those backups are handled by Apple or Google under their privacy policies.
Permissions
- Camera: to scan business cards. Photos are taken only when you scan.
- Contacts: only if you choose to save a card to your phone's contacts. CardRolo adds or updates the contacts you choose; it does not upload your address book anywhere.
- Photos: only if you choose to import a picture of a card from your library.
You can turn any of these off in your phone's settings at any time.
Company logos
To show a company's logo, CardRolo can look up the small icon that the company publishes on its own website (the website printed on the card). Your phone asks that website directly, so that website can see your phone's internet address, as with any web visit. Nothing about the contact is sent. You can turn logo lookups off in the app's settings.
Sharing and exporting
When you share a contact, export to a spreadsheet (CSV) or vCard, or open a phone number, email or LinkedIn search, CardRolo hands the information to the app or service you picked. What happens next is covered by that app's own privacy policy.
Purchases
Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle the payment; we never receive your card or bank details. The app only learns whether you have bought CardRolo Pro, so it can unlock it.
What we collect
Nothing from the app. CardRolo contains no advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and we do not sell or share personal information. If you email us, we use your message and email address only to answer you.
This website uses no cookies and no analytics. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes visitors' internet addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
Other people's information
Business cards contain information about the people who gave them to you. Because that information stays on your device, you are in control of it. Please use it as the card's owner would expect, and delete contacts you no longer need.
Deleting your data
Delete any contact in the app, or empty the Trash to remove it for good. Uninstalling CardRolo removes all of its data from your phone (backups you made earlier may still hold a copy until they expire). Because we do not have your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Children
CardRolo is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If we add features that change how data is handled (for example, optional syncing between devices), we will update this page and say so in the app before it applies to you.
